Below is a list of the current Performance accredited clubs in Hertfordshire

In 2005 the LTA brought out a new system for clubs and coaches to attain Performance accreditation and access funding for their programmes.

This process, which was tougher on clubs than previous years, was by application to the LTA from the coach and the club detailing their current programmes, facilities, players, and goals for the next 3-5 years.

This was then further developed by the leadership team at the LTA.

Clubs and coaches were then awarded varying levels of status/funding dependant on the above criteria. Each will have to re-apply annually for funding.
The levels of accreditation are as follows:
High Performance Centres (HPC)
Satellite Centres

As a player, there is no right or wrong anwser for which club to play at. As long as you are getting the tennis that is required for your age and to achieve your goals, and you are happy there, that is what is important. If you are unsure about what your programme is and your goals are then you must discuss this with your coach.
It is also possible to train at your "home" club and compete for their teams whilst accessing another club or an HPC intermittently to gain EXTRA training, sometimes with the other players of your level in the county. This should all be overseen by your coach.

There are only a handful of HPC's in the UK. These venues are seen as major training centres for players to access if they desire. Batchwood and Gosling are thriving HPCs in Hertfordshire which offer comprehensive programmes. Contact Mandy or Matt for more information about their programmes. Other HPCs near to Herts are Halton (Bucks), Redbridge (Essex), Westway (Middx)

The Satellite Centres all have a COMPLETE programme for a player that is trying to become an "elite" tennis player. They are situated across the county. Most of the these centres have a strong and direct link to one of the HPCs (hence their name) in order for their players to access those facilities and supplement their programmes to fulfill their weekly commitments. Each club works to their own style and design and is monitored by Herts LTA.

Clubs are always welcome to apply for a Satellite Centre status if they have strong programmes and fulfil some preliminary criteria.

All of the Satellite Centres receive a level of funding from the LTA which is voluntarily matched by the County, and in most cases is also topped up by the club itself. This shows a total commitment by all parties to ensure that each programme has adequate funding to provide their offered programme to a high standard.
